The 107 mm rocket launched across the bordering Tigris River landed 50 yards behind him and another man, but for some reason it didn't explode. Fahie (pronounced Foy) is mindful of that serendipity, pretty much every day. "It would've easily killed both of us," he says. "War became really personal to me at that point."

Just wanted to say.
Fahie is a true inspiration. He gives me hope that I can walk on too, even though I never played football. Being over there twice myself, I know where he is coming from. It is quite amazing what kind of drama NU has been through the last couple of weeks, and to stop and realize that Mr. Fahie has done something that few if any of those players have ever and will ever do really puts it into perspective. No matter what happens pertaining to the Martinez saga, he can’t hold a candle to what Fahie has done. I just hope we can all remember whenever that kind of drama pops up, it’s just a game, and those kids chose to play football. Nobody forced them to be there, just like no one forced anyone into the military.
LTC Kilgore: How you feelin' Jimmy?
