Rivalry Saturday Open Thread - Who's Nebraska Gonna Play In The Big 12 Title Game?
Did you stay up late and watch Nevada knock off Boise State last night? If you didn't, well.... there's a whole 'nother day full of great college football going on!
I know we're all gonna be waiting for this evening -- to find out who we're going to play in the Big 12 Championship game next weekend.
Oklahoma? Oklahoma State? An outside shot at a rematch with Texas A&M?

Gonna be cleaning house and hanging Advent/Christmas decorations all day,
but, seriously, Big XII, go away. 2011 can’t come soon enough in terms of athletics.

For me
I want another shot at A&M.

Darn
I was looking forward to them. They do a good job, along with the rest of the staff over here.
OU one more time
I don’t want a rematch with OSU without #3 and I’d like to see the Huskers play OU one more time for old times sake. Go Big Red!
I agree
I would love to see NU/OU for a conference title one more time. RIght now I am not real sure how we match up with either team. I honestly think dusting off the power looks and being patient and pounding the ball right at defenses and keeping either of these explosive offenses off the field will be our best bet. RIght now we don’t win a shootout with anyone.

Just pondering something...
Would the Big XII drop Nebraska to 5th in the bowl pecking order next week with a loss? I don’t know what bowl that would be this year, but I think it is a very real possibility. If the bowls have a choice over the conference I don’t see it, but if the conference gets to have influence on this I can see it happening with no question. We will be underdogs next week against whoever we play and that made think about that this morning.

No way
Nebraska fans travel too well, there’s no bowl out there that wouldn’t want Nebraska as a bowl team…..

The bowls pick the teams
Not the confrences, thank god……
On another note, I beleive the Big 12 1/2/3 teams have auto bowl bids… we would be big 12 #2 without a win next week? And goto the Cotton or Alamo?
The whole process is comepletely nuts and totally financially based.
+1 for a playoff.

before: if VT goes to the orange bowl, there’s a chance they might take the big east champ instead of an at-large.
now: Boise State’s out of the BCS picture, TCU smells roses, and LSU going to the Sugar Bowl would be the first thing about their season to make any sense. so that leaves the orange bowl with either the big east champ (WVU or UConn) or the next at-large.
all things considered…this one is a no-brainer.
GO OU!!!
Yes, as a rabid OU fan I want to beat the snot out of OSU for the sake of beating the snot out of OSU. But I really want to see the Sooners and the Huskers play just one more championship game. That matchup has provided so many memories over the years. Add to that the relationship between the head coaches of both programs and you’ve really got a great game. There’s just a history there that I want to see play out one last time.
All of that being said I live just outside of Columbus, Ohio and I am really excited to have Nebraska enter the Big 10. Finally someone who can smack the Suckeyes in the mouth! I am REALLY looking forward to Nebraska/Ohio State. You now have an excited newfound Husker fan in the heart of Ohio State country. And if OSU wins tonight (God forbid) then here’s hoping for a Husker championship!!!
no about this one
Oklahoma. even if this biannual game has lost some of its luster with the Big 8 shakedown, I’d love to see one more classic battle between the two. I doubt many of todays players have a real sense of what it used to be like but since it’s for the championship there’s definitely a lot at stake. Gundy has done a remarkable job at State though and I’m sure they won’t forget what happened in Stillwater. either team will be a real challenge but I was real proud of the way the young men stepped up against Colorado. they’ll have to do even better next week regardless of the opponent. I can’t see A&M overtaking Oklahoma in the BCS in case of a 3 way tie. don’t forget to turn the lights off Mr. Beebe.
Oklahoma....
Noone wants to re-play a team they already beat. You get too confident and the opponent gets a boost of revenge motivation….
Besides OU/NE has been a great rivalry for a while, and it’ll be a good end to the season. As long as the refs stay out of it (fat chance)

what’s the word on in his status? I don’t recall him coming back into the game after he was helped off the field or did I miss something.
I had heard yesterday...
…it was a sprained ankle… Pelini said he will be fine…which, in Pelini-speak, means he could be back anytime in the next two weeks. (I think “day-to-day” means two to three weeks, and “a while” means four to eight weeks…)

hey – LSU Arkansas is good…. LSU just scores at 2:20 left 2nd Q – 14 All.
be okay with me if either one loses – I guess I’ll be happy, although if Arkansas loses we’d move ahead of them in the polls.

Though I will start question Brett Beleima (sp?) if he drops 80 again on a fellow conference foe.

Oklahoma
without a doubt. Any true HUSKER fan wants to play OU one last time with a conference title on the line….
Here is what else I would love to see…..
TCU lose today, Oregon lose next saturday, Auburn lose next saturday…..thus leaving LSU and Stanford to play for the BCS/MNC. Two teams who didnt even win their conference playing for the MNC….yep that should give us a playoff.
Doesnt look like it will happen as TCU is up big in the third….Oh well a man can dream cant he…..
Yeah
not much of a hope for a TCU loss against New Mexico

I like Sadler, but it’s bugging me that he hasn’t had much success at all. I understand Nebraska isn’t much of a basketball state, but we shouldn’t be at the bottom in anything.

just insanity with the clock
lots of screaming and yelling – I’m not 100% sure what happened, whether they didn’t run the clock when Arkansas was trying to run the game out….
But, LSU fumbled inside their own one and Bobby Petrino took a knee to end the game.
