Nebraska Beats Colorado, Wins the Big 12 North Post Game Celebration Thread

The Huskers won the Big 12 North this evening, beating Colorado 45-17. The loss end's Colorado's season and their membership in the Big 12.
A little sloppy at times, but an excellent game overall by Nebraska. Other than two big plays in the second half, the defense was exceptional. Cody Green did pretty well running the offense, while Rex Burkhead was excellent.
We'll be here the rest of the night!

My understanding is that if OSU wins, they’re in.
If OU wins, as long as they are ahead of TAMU by more than one spot in the BCS, they’re in.
If OU wins, and are either lower than TAMU or just one spot ahead in BCS, TAMU is in.
TAMU getting in doesn’t seem likely though cuz OU is currently four spots ahead and OSU higher so if OU wins it probably puts the out of reach of TAMU. Savvy?

congratulations on winning the North to the Huskers. for the record, I’m from Southeast Missouri (born, bred, and raised) but I’ve been following Nebraska football since the late 70’s and do I ever love the Big Red!! as most of you should know, Tony Samuels is coaching at SEMO and I gotta love that as well. he’s doing a helluva job. I just uploaded some full size images of the Colorado game if it’s alright to post a link here.
Great game today
I was raised in Denver by a family of Nebraska alums, did my undergrad at Iowa and now attend CU for law school. Naturally, this game was a very confusing one for me. (Well really, my only motivation for wanting CU to win was so that both NU and CU would finish the season with better records than the true Big XII commissioner, Texas)
But great work today and great job winning the North in general, despite questionable (to say the least) officiating through much of the Big XII season. I will say that there have been a lot of…interesting calls at Folsom this season too. Good luck next week, I’d love to see Nebraska come to the Big Ten fresh off winning the Big XII!
Win out Huskers! I can’t wait ’til next November to go to Lincoln for the Iowa-Nebraska game.

I'm going to try again
to see if anyone can tell me how they will pick the officiating crew for the conference title game. Is it a “merit” choice, or is the crew already pre-determined? Or do they go with an out-of-conference crew?

You can bet Nebraska’s administration would raise holy hell if Burks’ crew was chosen. Christal is probably out too because he’s got a thick Texas accent. All that assuming the Big 12 cares about appearances, of course.

I heard
on the post game on the way home that Pelini has now won 31 games already as our head coach. So I looked up what Dr. Tom did in his first three seasons and he won 29. Now I don’t know if the 31 includes the bowl win as the replacement for Frank or not but I thought it is an impressive stat none the less. Let pray it isn’t the Burks crew in Dallas!!!!

One more question about the North trophy.
Since we would have won the North title out-right last week against A&M with a win, does anyone know if a Big XII rep was at the game, with the trophy? Or do they normally wait until the final regular season game to present it?
If they usually present it as soon as the title is clinched, and they WEREN’T there, it reeks of stinkin’, rotten fish.

…and frankly, I could care less about a division trophy. I thought it was made up when we earned it in 2006; Nebraska never celebrated it prior to that.

North Division. Glad to see The Fightin’ Pelinis turn into The Jovial Pelinis. Of course, when you’re not getting tattooed by the refs, it does improve your demeanor.
