College Football Ranking: BlogPoll Top 25 Week 8 Draft Ballot
I'm moving past denial and into the anger phase, but more about that later.
There were quite a few upsets this past weekend. Nevada dropped from the ranks of the undefeated at the hands of Hawaii, San Diego State knocked Air Force from the rankings, Washington beat Oregon State, and Florida lost to Mississippi State although I'm not sure you could call that an upset.
Then there were the big two - Wisconsin's beat down of Ohio State, and Texas win over Nebraska. I dropped both these teams quite a bit (I did mention anger, eh?). Maybe Ohio State doesn't deserve it, having lost on the road, but the Huskers certainly do - losing a game to Texas when they'd put so much stock in it since last season.
Per usual, tell me why I'm wrong.

At least some of the pressure is off...
This season already has enough pressure on Nebraska with it being our last year in the Big 12…but being a top 5 team added even more.
Now I just hope Missouri falters so we can win the north! I’m really afraid that we will lose to them in Lincoln…our home field advantage apparently means nothing,
I still don't get Oklahoma being this high.
Has everyone forgotten how they almost lost to Utah State? Air Force? Cinci-frakking-natti? Granted, they finally took care of bidness against Texas, something NU was unable to do, but at best I’d put Oklahoma at eighth or ninth for now.
Far too harsh on the Huskers, IMO. Yeah, I’m a homer, but 12th or 13th sounds about right to me. It seems more and more likely there was just far too much invested in this game, and our still-maturing program got jacklighted by the pressure. That being said, there’s two games in which this team has significantly under-performed thus far on the season, a trend we can hopefully leave behind in coming years.

Of the remaining undefeated teams
Oklahoma has played the most difficult schedule. It’s beaten two Top 25 teams, plus a decent Air Force team and a meh Cincinnati team on the road. No one else has that resume.

I agree with this placement of Nebraska
If they win the next two weeks, then they can make a claim to being a Top Ten-ish caliber team. But not before then.
Okie State and Missouri, I think, are way too high – but I can tell you go with the philosophy of ranking all the undefeated teams (except LSU, whom you really don’t like for some reason) before you get to the one-loss teams, which is a rational, consistent way to go about it.
if
everyone is going to give Boise State and TCU the benefit of the doubt for remaining unbeaten, why is the same courtesy not extended to Oklahoma State and Missouri? Only because they weren’t ranked highly at the start of the season and it takes large bowel movements for them to move up (I’m not really sure what that means…. i guess the weekend still affects me)?
LSU – yeah, I probably should move them up, but… I don’t like them. I’ve always liked Les Miles, and I love NOLA, but… man, I just think they’ve got voodoo on their side.

I give Boise State and TCU the benefit of the doubt
Because Boise beat Oregon St. and Virginia Tech and TCU beat Oregon St. and destroyed a pretty good Baylor team. Say what you will about VT’s James Madison game, but all three of those teams are better than anyone Missouri or Oklahoma St. have played.
