Corn Nation's Husker Corncast - Texas Loss Trainwreck
We changed things up this week, and did the podcast right after the game.
Hosts Will Grubb and Jake Sorenson talk to me right after the Texas loss, which may not have been the best idea in the world given that I'm nearly suicidal to the point that they're not sure what to do with me. Kind of a trainwreck, but it does capture the emotion of the moment.
The guys discuss how badly the Huskers played especially the problem with dropped balls and Niles Paul's inconsistency. Jared Crick and the defensive line didn't do well against Texas.
BTW, we need to win the Big 12. I think I mentioned that in here somewhere.

I listened
and my dear jonny, I’d advise you not to do these post-game interviews tipsy too often! Although you did tend to make some sense….wandering , yes, but sense.
My take, being the eternally optimistic cheerleader, is that if we all shut up and quit whining about the bad calls and the “fake-time-stalling injuries” and the boorish behavior of some of our fans, and concentrate on the fact that we only have one loss,
the Big-Soon-to-be-Ten Conference Championship is still within our grasp (if we can only catch it). Let’s wipe this ugly memory of 10-16-10 from our collective minds, and get back to supporting these 18-to-20-something-year old kids who picked NEBRASKA to play for. Let’s show them some love and support, okay?
Faking injuries??
I don’t understand how you could say that. If that was a strategy, I don’t think Texas would do that with some of it’s best defensive players and take them out of the game for more than one play in a game like this. The one with Keenan Robinson, it looked like he was knocked cold and he didn’t come back in the game. He’s possibly our best linebacker. Curtis Brown, one of our best corners. That’s just silly to claim that. I can understand wanting to criticize the penalties. I agree some of the calls were questionable. It was clear that marquise goodwin was being held by his jersey on that pass interference call. True, the call should have been defensive holding instead of pass interference, but the net affect would be the same. I know it’s a tough loss. We’ve had two of them. We had the NCG to deal with, so I understand the post-loss commiseration, but Nebraska fans are better than accusing players of faking injuries. Good luck in the Big Ten. I hope our teams see each other again in the Big 12 champ game and later on, perhaps, in a nat champ game.
