2010 Nebraska vs Texas: ABC/ESPN Coverage Map
Freshly Released, here's your television coverage map for the 2010 Nebraska - Texas game. People in the bluish/turquoise (hey, I only had eight crayons when I was a kid, okay?) area will get the game on reverse mirror coverage on ESPN.

Does northeast Nebraska really get Iowa-Michigan, or do they have 2 ABC stations to choose from?

Yes.
But dammit if they aren’t on at the same time!

It will
be on ESPN alternate or ESPN 2. Anything you watch on ABC will usually be broadcast simultaniously on ESPN with respect to your location.
Don’t know if that made sense, but yes, they will get the game if they have basic cable.

Still...
Not everybody has cable. I would think they’d put all of Nebraska on the Nebraska game for the broadcast station (probably same with Iowa).

Awesome!
Finally, I get to watch a Saturday Husker game in HD here in Alabama without having to use ESPN3. Plus, I no longer have to be the most hated guy at my boy’s football games since I outwardly root against all teams ranked ahead of Nebraska. It’s a good week. Thanks ABC and thanks Coach Satan and the geographically displaced, overhyped Elephants.
…I still hate you Fox and Dish Network.

Ditto
I’m in Virginia and during the weekend of the Washington game I had Alabama – DUKE for the entire travesty of a game. ESPN2 didn’t even have UN – wash in my area. Duke football should NEVER be on tv. It’s bad enuf Duke bball is thrown in our faces all the time.

I know your pain
I moved from Newport News to Montgomery, AL last summer. My Internet provider didn’t do ESPN360 so all I had was SD gameplan, SD FSN, and maybe three HD games (’08, VT, OU, CU). Drank heavily during that OU game….
Anyhow, I hated being forced into watching the ACC/ Big East.

Thanks!
For the map – can you point us to the original?

Just so you know Nrrbraska fans..
…next year all your games will be in that bit of blue. No California kids watching, no Florida kids watching, no Texas kids watching. Well, I guess that is better than the pay per view you are accustomed to now.
So the Big 10 Network is only in the B10 country?
And here I thought it was nation wide…

You do realize that the yellow area still gets the game?
Also, the OSU-Wisconsin game is on ESPN in primetime with the only competition being NASCAR – I guess that this might be competition in Texas and other places, but California I seriously doubt.
But then again, you knew this. You just wanted to troll a little.

Hmmmmmmmmm
funny thing about that – I saw an article somewhere a few days ago about a kid that committed to Northwestern, or one of the Big Ten schools because he said that his family (California, I believe) would be able to see all of his games on Big Ten Network.
The kid had never stepped foot on Northwestern’s campus.
Wait – here it is – http://highschoolsportsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/10/as-proof-of-the-power-of-the-big-10-netw.html
The kid is from Dallas. Here’s the original article, and the money quote:
In the media-saturated modern world, the Big Ten Network has become yet another recruiting tool. Last summer, Treyvon Green, a highly regarded running back from suburban Dallas, verbally committed to play for Northwestern in 2011. He had never stepped foot on Northwestern’s campus in Evanston, Ill.; most everything he knew about the university he had learned from the Big Ten Network.
One kid, yeah, but the Big Ten Network is available anywhere you want to have it.

how could we be so stupid?
Mr. Horns4TheWin is correct – no one outside of the rust belt gives two shits about big ten football. who in their right mind would care about something that doesn’t involve THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS (Home of America’s Team™)? We shall bow our heads now, if only to prepare for our last whimper into irrelevance.
(Also: please do not disrespect Mr. Horns4TheWin. He is obviously not a troll.)
