#11 Husker Women Stay Undefeated, Beat #9 Baylor 65-56

The Nebraska women's basketball team moved  to 16-0 as they beat the ninth-ranked Baylor Bears 65-56 in a game between two top-ranked teams. The Huskers started slow missing 16 of their first 18 shots, but managed to lead Baylor at the half, 31-26. Baylor scored the first points in the second half and took the lead, but the Huskers went on a 18-6 run over the final ten minutes to close out the game.

Baylor's Brittney Griner was a shot-blocking machine with six and lead the Bears in scoring with 18. Griner's presence forced the Huskers to shoot from the outside, which they did, making twelve three-pointers. Nebraska was lead by Yvonne Turner, who had 22 points, making six three-pointers. Kelsey Griffin added 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The loss ended Baylor's 14-game home winning streak. The win should move Nebraska into the top ten and continues the best season in school history, as Nebraska remains one of three undefeated teams in the nation, along with UConn and Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The win moves Nebraska into a tie with Oklahoma State for first place in the Big 12 with a 3-0 record.

Wow! Is all I can say to UNL Women's Basketball Team .....

Hat’s off to the starting line up at UNL….they worked as a team to overcome 6’8’’ B. Griner at Baylor! They-Could-Go-All-The-Way!!!!
