There has been a lot of talk on message boards about how this class is not filling up as fast as other big 12 teams. Or there is talk about how there is not enough big name recruits coming in to Nebraska to compete year in and year out with the heavyweights in the nation. Which really bothers me because if you look at the players that are coming in they all almost to a man has these characteristics in common, hard working, smart, willing to learn and a winner. Which to me means that Bo doesn't care what amount of stars you have next to your name. He wants players that will bring the right attitude and intangibles. All you have to do is go back to last five years to see most five and four stars never live up to the hype. Some never saw the field or never even played or in some cases never went to the college they signed the letter of intent.
If you look at the classes of the past there is a good mix of big time recruits and players that had three or less stars. Compton was a four star and fisher was a three, Asante was a four star and O'hananlon was I'm pretty sure a two if that. Which means that simply put the heart of the player is just as important as the intangibles. Which this coaching staff has looked for and is going for.
Plus as much as I love living in Nebraska lets face it, is very diffrent than places in the south and coast were more people live. How many punch lines has this state endured and that puts a image to people. And while we know about the pipeline and Frazier and Turner Gill and the history of this franchise. Most high schoolers don't and we haven't been relevant long enough or strong enough to change that yet.
