Nebraska nominated I-back Roy Helu, Jr. for the Doak Walker Award Watch List. Seven Big XII running backs have been nominated for this award, which honors the best running back in college football. Other Big XII nominees include Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown, Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter, Kansas' Jake Sharp, Texas Tech's Baron Batch, and Texas A&M's Cyrus Gray.

Interesting to note that Missouri and Baylor failed to nominate Derrick Washington and Jay Finley.
