Come on
Why can’t some guys use their head for something besides keeping their ears apart. How will this affect his status witht he team?
where are the coaches in this?
Looking at what Castille is charged with, it seems that it’s just an issue of paperwork and showing up. He just had to get all the proper paperwork done when he got the car, and then he just had to show up for court. However, college kids can often overlook such seemingly simple things that get them into big trouble.
While I do blame Castille for not taking care of his shit, I also blame the coaching staff. If NU considers itself a “family” program and the coaches are the parents, then the parents should have been more on top of it. Where is the non-athletic support for its players that I hear NU boast of so much? The coaches need to teach the players how to handle legal situations better… and if they can’t, then the coaches need to step in and make sure the players take care of their legal troubles, just like the coaches make sure the players attend workouts.
We could lose one of our best players because of this fairly small incident. Where is the parental support?
Where is the personal responsibility?
College kids are old enough to know that when you have a court appearance, you show up. They shouldn’t need a parent constantly looking over their shoulder and telling them what to do. It’s part of growing up.

Let's not overreact here...
…this appears to be a minor legal issue, but became much bigger because of the skipped court appearance. We don’t know why Castille didn’t show up; there may be a reason other than “he forgot”.
As for the status with the team, nothing has changed as of yet. But depending on how Castille responds to it, it might. He’s running the risk of creating a mountain out of a molehill.
Glad the warrant was rescinded, but...
Yeah college kids SHOULD know to show up for a court appearance, but they are also make mistakes. That’s where parental/coaching support should come in – to make sure that the kids don’t make any mistakes.
Like I said before, it is Castille’s fault, but I expected the coaching staff to act like parents and look out for their kids when the kids make mistakes.
now
Culbert is in trouble – same thing – failure to show up. Such fools.
