1 season a trend does not make
Let’s wait a season or 2 before we write off Anderson, and even if he does fail, I have the confidence that he will be replaced with someone that can succeed at Nebraska. Let’s not forget the facilities and the fans for Nebraska are tops in the country.

A season or two?
After seeing what’s happened to this team, you think he deserves TWO more years?
If things don’t improve DRASTICALLY next year, he should be THROWN out the door.
It’s not all on the field, more and more stories are coming out about just how big an a-hole this guy is, and how little his players like him.

Oh I think he's earned another season at least
Given his past performance. Then it all depends on what happens next year. How much improvement does he need to show? How much can be expected when the team will basically have to find replacements or have marked improvement from the entire pitching staff as well as the hitters? I also don’t see TO firing him very quickly. I think he will give MA every opportunity to turn it around, and only pull the trigger once MA makes it abundantly clear that he can’t handle the expectations. Hey at least we won’t have to read “Why was MA fired!?!” threads for years to come if he fails completely.
And what stories are you seeing about Anderson being an ass? I hear things, but have never read anything of substance.

Here's the problem with some of your logic
“How much can be expected when the team will basically have to find replacements or have marked improvement from the entire pitching staff as well as the hitters?”
Isn’t that a negative mark on him? I personally think it should be a MARKED improvement. Top 4 in the Big 12, and a regional at the minimum is the only thing that will come close to convincing me he deserves to stay, and he would be on a short leash from there on out. It’s like a large part of the media has completely forgotten that Anderson isn’t NEW. He’s been here a loooooooooonnnnng time. This mess is entirely his baby.
I’d happily read 4,000 posts about “why was Mike Anderson fired” if it means he was actually fired.
As for what stories? Some are first person accounts from someone close to the program, others are second hand accounts from other people. If I had heard just one or two stories, I’d think perhaps it was sour grapes, but it’s not

Logic problems?
"How much can be expected when the team will basically have to find replacements or have marked improvement from the entire pitching staff as well as the hitters?"
Isn’t that a negative mark on him? I personally think it should be a MARKED improvement. Top 4 in the Big 12, and a regional at the minimum is the only thing that will come close to convincing me he deserves to stay, and he would be on a short leash from there on out.
Yeah that’s what I was trying to get at, I think. He gets 1 year to correct the program. For those that want him fired is there anyway he can rebound that much, that quickly? Why not give him that chance though? Really look at his credentials-
5/6 years under MA Nebraska has reached a regional. (Now 5/7)
He was named Big 12 Coach of the Year 2003, and 2005
2003 MA’s first year-
a 47-18 record.
The Huskers won the Big 12 regular-season title with a 20-7 mark while Anderson became the second first-year Husker coach to lead NU to a conference title and the first since 1929.
2004
a 36-23 record
2005-
most successful season in school history in 2005.
NU compiled a 57-15 record and advanced to the College World Series for the third time in a five-year span.
The Huskers won the program’s first-ever CWS game, while the 57 wins led the nation and broke the school mark of 51 set in 2001
2006
a 42-17 record and reached an NCAA Regional for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
2007
32-27
title game of the NCAA Tempe Regional.
2008
41-16-1 and was ranked as high as fifth in the country before receiving a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament
That’s a hell of a resume to just toss him. And the 2004 team was pretty bad, though not as horrible as this year, and they rebounded very well in 2005.
Now there are people that were never sold on him, and I can’t say I disagree with them. I think NU has actually underachieved under Anderson, so i wouldn’t be totally unhappy to see him go. But the reality is with TO in the AD office I think you are going to see MA as the coach for at least another year.
As for what stories? Some are first person accounts from someone close to the program, others are second hand accounts from other people. If I had heard just one or two stories, I’d think perhaps it was sour grapes, but it’s not
Yeah I hear similar stuff, but really what is he doing? Pushing the kids too hard? Being too demanding? You have to know what kind of coach Anderson is when you sign up to play under him.

Okay, I misunderstood you on the expectations.
I thought you were saying expecting a large improvement was too harsh, and that’s why he deserved at least two years
Yeah I hear similar stuff, but really what is he doing? Pushing the kids too hard? Being too demanding? You have to know what kind of coach Anderson is when you sign up to play under him.
I think it has more to do with him not being remotely consistent with his treatment, than actually being harsh. Again, if one person was telling the stories, I’d write it up as a guy grumpy about HIS treatment, but it’s multiple people, in multiple situations from multiple sources.

Nebraska Swept Baylor in their Final Series...
…Creighton got swept by Wichita State in their final series…
I’d argue that now the headline might still be correct…just completely opposite of what the author intended.
