NIT: #6 Nebraska @ #3 New Mexico
The NIT brackets are being announced; Nebraska is a #6 seed and will open the NIT at New Mexico on Tuesday night at 9 pm on ESPNU. As a #6 seed, it's unlikely the Huskers would get to host a game in Lincoln as the higher seed typically hosts.
Baylor is a #3 seed in the NIT, and Kansas State is a #4 seed. Creighton is a #1 seed and will host Bowling Green, and could host the Huskers in the 3rd round, as the Huskers and Bluejays are in the same bracket. The Husker/Lobo winner would face the winner of Notre Dame/Alabama-Birmingham. while the Creighton/Bowling Green winner would face the winner of Kentucky/UNLV.

i guess
it’s disappointing we didn’t get into the big dance, but if the NIT gives them more practice time and a chance to get better and more exposure, what the hell do I have to complain about?

I'm disappointed we fell all the way to a #6...
that means we were close to missing completely.
I’ll pull info on New Mexico, and have a preview tomorrow.

Tough Match-up
New Mexico is strong at home and the Huskers have had their trouble away from the Central Time Zone. With two trips out West earlier in the year Nebraska has come away with nothing more than a tan. ASU and OSU both gave the Huskers fits. They did not look good against Arizona State and could not find their rhythm against a pesky Beaver team. New Mexico is not of Pac-10 quality, but will surely be a formidable opponent for the Big Red.
