Mike Leach Declines Tech Contract Extension; Tech Regents Meet Friday
The saga of Mike Leach at Texas Tech took a turn for the bizarre today with Leach turning down an extension over the fine print, and now the Texas Tech Board of Regents will meet on Friday for a "discussion and consideration of matters ... including but not limited to the position of the football head coach."
The issue isn't so much the money as much as the buyout clause that Tech and Leach would pay if the agreement terminated early. Leach has a wandering eye, and wants to be able to pursue other jobs. Tech wants to either lock him up, or cut their losses now.
So now we wait to see what Tech is going to do. Fire him now? Let Leach work out the string? Give in to Leach's demands for no buyout?
Pass the popcorn.

Holy Cow!!!!!
Mike Leach is the freakiest coach in the Big 12.
If he leaves Tech, are they going to replace him with someone equally as freaky?
Will he leave Tech? What’s bugging him?
Arrrggghhhhh, what a freak show college football is! Thank God!
