Dan Hawkins' Announcement Tomorrow; KOA 850 Says "He'll Stay!"
Colorado AD Mike Bohn has made his decision, and will meet with Dan Hawkins tomorrow. The Ralphie Report reports that KOA-850 AM has confirmed that Hawkins is staying. An official announcement will be made at that time, reports the Boulder Daily Camera. Bohn is currently with the CU basketball team at the Maui Invitation, and will be flying the red eye back with the team. As such, any announcement won't come until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest (HT: Lincoln Journal-Star)

Must suck to be broke.
I love Dan Hawkins, he’s always been rather charismatic and funny when I’ve heard him in interviews, but I don’t understand why he’s keeping his job, unless it’s a lack of funding to buy him out.
This is going to kill them in recruiting, too. Do you think a kid is going to want to go somewhere where it is basically already been determined that the coach will be fired after your freshman season?
GBR!!!

It's money...
They’re still paying off the loans they took out to buyout Gary Barnett. Add in $3 million for buying out Hawkins, and the going rate to hire a new coach…they can’t afford it. So take a chance that Tyler Hansen is the answer, they’ve got a lot of young players on the roster. It took Bill McCartney five years; how long did it take Dan McCarney at Iowa State?
Hope so...
We could use another “down” year for CU. All those recruits can just come to Lincoln and we can hope for a lightly competitve game in 2010.
