Corn Flakes: Safe Travels

Safe travels if you are headed over the hills and through the woods to Grandma's house for Turkey Day. Safer travels if you are headed to Colorado. Don't let them throw things at you.

Wearing Blackshirt: Nebraska 'D' will beat Texas - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN

Well, call me Phil Ivey. Because after Saturday night's Big 12 North-clinching win over Kansas State, I'm all in. Yep, I'm putting it down in bold-faced Internet ink right this very moment: Nebraska will beat Texas in Dec. 5's Big 12 Championship Game. I've been dipping my toes in this pool for some time now. And though even the most faithful 'Huskers fans have been e-mailing to tell me I'm crazy, I'm diving in head-first. With a win over Texas in Arlington in two weeks, Nebraska is going to shake this BCS thing up. Hell, they're our only hope at a little chaos in what has been an all too predictable 2009 college football season. Forget Lincoln, Neb., and its suburbs — if you're a fan of college football and all the excitement that goes with it, Nebraska's now America's Team.

NE StatePaper.com - Back to the Future

So it's little surprise, really, when NU offensive coordinator Shawn Watson, asked for his vision of the future, said, simply: "It would be a team like we were last year." Shotgun spread. Zone running game. Controlled passing game. With some power formations mixed in near the goal line.

To be fair last year the offense preformed pretty well. But fans seem to prefer knee-jerk reactions.

What will happen: Colorado will make this fun with an interesting group of trick plays with everything emptied out on the field. The Nebraska D will be up to the task. CFN Prediction: Nebraska 17 … Colorado 13 ... Line: Nebraska -8

Toney McCray done for basketball season (Lincoln Journal-Star)

His elbow will require surgery, so he won't be back. He's already redshirted, so unless he can petition the NCAA for a 6th year, he'll lose a year. Tough break.

Michigan State Football Players Reportedly Involved In Campus Brawl

Apparently some Spartan football players just decided to head over to the dorms and assault some people. This could be one of the dumbest on-campus incidents involving football players I've ever heard of. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of it. - JJ

Agreed

I’m a homer for sure, and I think we have somewhat of a chance to beat texas. But that guy has lost it. Although I did enjoy the superlatives about the Cornhuskers.

Just remember guys....

The same attitude prevailed for so many years in the hawkeye state. So much so, that before each game this season, Iowa fans would anticipate losing. “No way we can go 6-0!” They were afraid to believe. Then they ripped off 9 straight and should’ve won at OSU. Granted they lost 2 games, but nobody dreamed of 9 wins and they still pulled it off.

I think we can win this game. Texas is not invincible. We have played well on the road this year, and Bo’s had his team ready for the marquee games. If we play smart and extend the clock like we did against KSU, who knows? What if we put Colt on his back a handful of times? That changes things…

BEAT CU, and then BEAT UT !!!!

Red is in!

Long time troll, first time poster… I have to throw this out there because there are a lot of us who feed off of these tid-bits. Out of four Big 12 Championship game appearances, Nebraska HAS NOT lost while wearing the home uniform. The Huskers will be the home team during the upcoming Big 12 Championship. Nebraska wins, 13-10 GO BIG RED!!!!!!

I didn't know

the coaches are letting them wear the black shirts again. Don’t you think its a bit premature?

I'd give my right arm to be ambidexterous.

you are kidding?

I wasn’t sure how to take this…. you’re being sarcastic, right?

After the season is over, we’ll go back and do some comparisons with this defense against others at Nebraska and I think we’ll find it’s one of the best in school history.

Go Big Red Nebraska!
