We're here, where we thought we'd be at the beginning of the season.
A goal for the season was achieved.
Can we do more????

I love being the underdog against TX
Great defense
Great special teams
I see something good happening
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
I still haven't watched the
Iowa game. thought we lost it then. Maybe I should just erase it and pretend it never happened
There's not going to be any patting ourselves on the back
There will be another time for that -Bo Pelini
I asked the wise one
what she thought, and Mrs CN said “it doesn’t mean anything unless we beat Texas”.
Wow. Too harsh?

Good game by the defense, an overall good win, but the offense stalled too much in the 2nd half. One good thing we’ve done is have game ending drives and we did it again tonight.
Agree but I think...much to my dismay...that this offense knows how the defense is playing
and goes conservative. Like KU if they have to keep throwing punches they will but they are just fine facilitating the game and not giving up the big turnover.
I think they went conservative intentionally. They only took 3 shots down field in the second half, but one was complete. K-State’s rush defense has been decent all year, I’m not surprised, when you consider strength v strength, that Nebraska couldn’t get the run game going. I’m just surprised we didn’t see more production out of the passing game. I thought they’d use the pass to open up the run (ie The Kansas Game.)

Actually three according the box score
running into the kicker
it was the correct call
which is why it was called running into, and not roughing. We did run into him.

guarded
enthusiasm????
I know what I’ll be hearing from other Big 12 north guys…..
- you ought to be happy.
- you’re think too much of yourselves
- Husker arrogance
- blah de blah
- the guys from Mizzou might actually congratulate us…. Okay. maybe KSU.

we have absolutely zero shot against Texas
How you can watch us score 17 points against Kansas State, have our “signature win” this season be against a five loss Oklahoma team, and think we’re going to beat Texas is simply beyond me.

Here's my problem with this year and particularly MU and KU fans...
Seems like if its not KU and MU like it has been the last two years that the North is down. The Big 12 in general is playing a different brand of football this year.
well
KU is going to gut itself….. it’s just a matter of who gets fired, or how many.
MU – is solid. We should hate them for it. :)
CU – oy vey. suckage. there’s no end in site.

The North is down.
Kansas State went from challenging for the North title, to not making a bowl game. There are no REALLY good teams in the North. Nebraska has a really good defense, and a really bad offense, which makes us okey doke. In fact, the Big 12 as a whole, is very down this year. Texas is the only REALLY good team in the conference

It all comes back
to the offensive line. They are not consistent and they do not have the two or three guys that will be playing on Sundays. They have improved, but in the next two games it will come down to how well they play from start to finish.

I hate these ugly wins too
Remember how NU had no shot against OU? Yeah that game sucked too.

except for missing a wide open receiver in the endzone
and then that pathetic interception. We’ve got a real problem at quarterback

To answer the question...
Yes, this team can do more. They can do much more. CU, UT and a bowl game. How does 11-3 sound with a Big 12 Championship and a BCS bowl victory sound? They’re not going to get blown out by anybody which gives them a punchers chance against UT and in the Fiesta Bowl.
how does it sounds? Unrealistic

Who told this lady about our website?
Go away, your a debby downer (thats right I pulled out the debby downer reference on you) and nobody likes a debby downer. To me the idea of going 11-3 sounds optimistic and achievable
If the offense
can play at the level of the defense, WOW, this team would be dominating!! What is the secret. I bet TO knows, but the thin line that seperates him from being to involved is holding him back. But then again, this is Bo’s team now, and he will bring it all together in due time.

i don't
think there’s a secret.
that’s just it. i think these coaches are doing the best of what they can do with what they have.

A great
coach can turn any average player into an NFL superstar. I believe Bo is that coach. But something is not clicking on the offense right now. That points to the OC.

I sure hope we can do more
I’ve got my room booked in Dallas. GBR!
Luckily, I have that luxury of looking ahead. But for the team, beat CU. THEN think about Dallas.
400+ posts in the game thread? Good job guys!
One thing we can do to improve this offense is get rid of the option plays
CLEARLY we aren’t very good at them. When we were running straight ahead, we at least had SOME success, but this offensive line is not very good, and any sort of delay, draw, or option attack gets BLOWN UP. Even by mediocre defenses.
I get that Tom loves the option, but we are not that team anymore, and the personnel we have can’t run it.
I guess I'm just a worrier, that's why my friends call me whiskers
Bill Snyder got burned over and over again in the 90’s with the option, and eventually learned how to defend it. Last week it worked, with the same personnel. The only difference between last week and this? One team is coached by Bill Snyder and the other isn’t.
GBR!!!
