MInnesota

goes for a 4th and 1 at midfield in the first quarter and picks it up.

Iowa leads 3-0 so far….. Minnesota’s offense still of the inept variety.

Hopefully that’ll happen….. be nice to see us rush us someone in the North, why not Kansas State?

Ah

as Broyles was waltzing into the endzone on his 51 yard TD, he was half high stepping while holding the ball out and looking back at the trailing Tech defender. The announcers couldn’t really believe it, and as the flags came out they said something like “and that taunting penalty is really silly…I mean, Broyles should just look at the scoreboard, OU was down 28 pts in the 4th quarter when he’s doing this.”

do you think Weis would have generated this much hatred if Jimmy Clausen hadn’t had that “Hall of Fame” moment when he chose Notre Dame?

Or is the ND hate extra high just because of the Clausen/Weis combo?

I don't think so

I don’t think it matters that much. Notre Dame has such a huge history, and is such a huge place, that… I just don’t think it matters.

I’ve been there once. Walking on that campus… even the ground felt special. I hate to say that, but it did. Maybe that’s because I grew up Catholic. I felt the same thing when I walked on ground in old missions in the Southwest.

I went into the Basilica.

Then I went to the fountain. I tossed in two coins and said a prayer that ND would lose one game by two points the next year. They lost early to Michigan.

That fall, I went fishing with a buddy in Northern Minnesota. I met a ND trustee. My buddy told him I did that. If looks could kill…..

Good stuff

I agree to some extent, in that I don’t think ND’s class is going to be affected that much overall. However, I still think several individual recruits will be seduced by other schools with a better chance to win right now, or that are closer to home, etc. But yes, there will probably be other recruits glad to take their place.

Beck said the fact that Nebraska didn’t struggle much in the non-conference schedule on offense maybe gave coaches “a false sense of where we really were.”
