Nebraska vs Missouri - Post Game Thread (As If You Can Sleep After This One!)
What an amazing game.
This is your post game thread.... your chance to admit you wanted Cody Green in the game, your chance to admit you were going to bed at the end of the third quarter.

That's why they play four quarters
…fortunately we actually played in one of them.

suggestions
taken for what we’re going to put up at Rock M Nation, winning the bet.
I have to admit, I was dreading what they’d come up with….. nothing too nasty.
but suggestions taken nonetheless.

nebraska showed why you never give up.
i told you i had the cornhuskers giving 3 1/2 points and the under when on the west coast we saw the weather conditions. the over under went from 53 1/2 to 47 points in 45 minutes. that is a large amount of money on the under. the officials in my opinion tried there very best to give mizzou that final td. the false horsecollar penalty. the catch that was not only out of bounds he did not even have his feet in. the false pass intererence call. nebraska just kept coming back harder and harder. what a game. one of the year’s best. nebraska is now 4-1 straight up and 5-0 vs the spread. tied for best in the nation. great win for your program. peace out!

Great game
Absolutely dominant defense. Well done. Good luck the rest of the way, unless we catch you. Then lose. But that’s unlikely, so good luck in the interim.

What bothers me
is that over the past ten years K-State, KU, and Mizzou have all had their couple of years in the sun and think that they deserve mention in the same breath as the Huskers. None of them do! Until they sustain what Nebraska has done over the years, no one else can have the title of top program in the North.

The dynamic is kind of interesting
Because Missouri’s just glad to be in contention. We didn’t expect to lose tonight. but for Nebraska, it’s about making sure no one else is in their league. Hence the rivalry discussion, etc.

How bout them huskers!
Greater than any stats that you can spout off is the fact that this team will keep fighting for four quarters and they have been since the end of last year.
Congrats to Bo for doing what Callahan never could.

We got a complaint
From the old lady downstairs, with about 10 minutes to go in the 4th. A bit of a buzzkill, but we just said “OK” and went on screaming. She just moved in – must not be from around these parts.

Dreams do come true
Ah the good ol’ days are back, Nebraska’s in the top 20 again (hopefully!) mizzou player’s weeped as their precious tigers got tamed (quite assertively) and the Children of the Corn get to mark down a big ol’ W in the Missouri column, I think that if I wanted a single win this season THIS was the game, not Oklahoma, Missouri, thank you Helu, Lee, Paul, Suh, and everybody else who made this dream a reality

Congratulations, folks.
That’s a darn good win for your program, and there’s not a whole lot I can say about Suh that hasn’t already been said. Many, many congratulations.
I wish my team had given you guys a fight in the fourth quarter, but no matter. Congratulations to the Huskers, and best of luck (and health) for the rest of the season.
And please…be kind on the RMN tagline. Or, at least a little merciful.
What do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze? Do they dream of mauling zebras, or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?

the horse collar on Suh.
the helmet contact called on Missouri early in the third quarter.

agreed
Having the rain was bad enough, but well, lets face it, apart from the 4th quarter for Husker fans, this game was UGLY for both sides. The officials were too penalty happy in general. I thought they were fair, but wow, when we’ve got like 9 more yards of offense, than penalties going into the 4th…wow.

horse collar im not to upset with
I mean only in slow motion it was clear but at game speed yikes tough call… The hands to the face was bogus…. But on the flip side they let a lot of real close pass interferances go so it washes out

An unbelievable comeback
I was feeling down for so long, by the time it sunk in that they had turned things around, it was already 20-12. At that point I was almost completely confident in the win. I’ll say this: I was sick and tired of these kinds of games going against us, and I’m going to really enjoy this one over the weekend.

“Almost as classy as CornNation”
“The second-classiest blog in the Big 12”
It’s a bit of a dig, but also a compliment, as those guys have always seemed pretty decent to me.
“Missing that little booger-eater”
That’s much more mean, but I’ll bet they do/did miss him tonight, along with the other players they lost from last year.
They’ll be fine for the next few years, especially if their O-Line improves. They’re still a decent team, who I think could still win the North if Nebraska stumbles. I hope it doesn’t come to that though. Props to them, and GBR!

Wow
I can’t believe that we did that. I thought we were done for at the end of the 3rd quarter. We couldn’t run it, couldn’t hit the short passes, and wouldn’t throw it down field. Then, Bam! We couldn’t be stopped, I’ll bet we spilled a gallon of beer on the floor in the 4th. Amazing! Suh for Heisman sounds about right. How many tackles/sacks/pass break ups did he have tonite?
by HuskerPhil on Oct 9, 2009 1:02 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
at the rate suh is going
He may have more pass break ups than some d-bs… But def players never get the love they should… Plus if tebow comes back and plays the rest of the season they will give it to him. But in my mind suh is right now the best player in the country

Did anyone else have a problem with James and Palmer?
I understand their job is to point out what a losing team is doing wrong, but they don’t have to be assholes about it. These two almost seemed to gloat at Nebraska’s struggles, especially at the end of the third quarter. It showed a lack of professionalism.
