Catching the Game in the Red, Yellow, or Green Areas

I live in Berkeley, California. Which means that I am regularly subjected to PAC-10 games, the majority of which involve the University of Spoiled Children. For the last several years, I have had Dish Network service and have paid relatively high fees for ESPN Gameplan and PPV. For the first time this year, I went to a watch site that is organized by the Bay Area Alumni Club, it’s a lot of fun and some great folks turn out for it, but it’s a little bit gauche to bang on the table and yell at the TV with all those people around.
If you are like me, you might want to check out ESPN360.com. They offer live streaming video of all the games offered via Gameplan and the quality is quite good. I have a relatively slow DSL connection and have been able to follow the action without any problems (well, maybe a few glitches but almost all of those have been during the commercials). When I watch from work (UC Berkeley) it’s like watching the game on a standard def TV set.
The best part about it is that it’s free through my home ISP (AT&T DSL) and through the campus network. This saves me an average of $139 a year over Gameplan and $40 a game at the watch site (after you add up the wings, beer, gas, and $10 contribution to the commercial PPV fund).
There is nothing like being in Memorial Stadium with a fairbury in one hand and a runza in the other (assuming you let your balloons go really early in the game!). But if you can’t do that, this is a great option…

If you're looking for the game

because Texas – Oklahoma is still on ABC because it’s going long – the Nebraska – TTech game has moved to ESPN2
