Final 2008 AP Poll: Nebraska Unranked

Here's your final 2008 AP poll. Nebraska finishes unranked - in the "Other's Receiving Votes" area..... in other words, the "she's nice" segment of college football.

So let me ask - does it bother you we've finished unranked? Anyone here that is ranked who deserves it less than we do?

Well,

I think we deserve to be in there just as much as the teams they have ranked 20-25, but those teams have been ranked all year so we’re just screwed.

TCU is this year’s laughably over ranked team. Yea, very good D, average O: so what.

At least they got Ball St. out of there, and BSU is still iffy IMO.

Utah is not better than USC, no way. Whatever.

VA Tech should be about 5 slots higher.

Most those teams

have better resumes than NU. Not really a “quality” win this year. At least no wins over a ranked team.

Rankings will come.

Yes & No

I would have like to see them ranked. I think the Huskers could beat some of the teams ahead of them. But maybe this will be a little incentive for next year, somewhat like after the 93 NC/Bowl loss and Unfinished Business for 94 (on a smaller scale.

Under the radoa for next year

I can live with us being unranked at the end of this year, although we were playing well at the end. We didn’t play very well at the beginning of the year, it took a little while for us to get our feet under us. Rankings will come with consistant success. I do think we are better than or could play with anyone from 17 on down. I think Cincinnatti is way overrated, the Big East and the Big Ten are both down this year. I don’t think the Big 10 deserves 4 in the top 25 much less two in the top ten. Ohio State and Penn State I think should be in the 15 to 20 range. But, I don’t like the Big 10 I think they are always overrated. Plus TCU at 7, I don’t think so.

Oh ya

Nice job Utah. Way to dominate your game and do all you could to win at least a share. You dominated Alabama more than Florida in my opinion. Style points got OU in the title game and style points should have gotten you half the title. You guys got hosed, I think.

MSU

is the most dubious ranked team in there. We are better than them.

I'm not convinced Iowa deserves it more than NU

Iowa is 9-4, Nebraska is 9-4. Iowa lost to 24th rated Michigan St., UNRATED Pitt, UNRATED Northwestern, UNRATED Illinois with only one decent win in Penn St.

NU lost to 19th rated Mizzu, 15th rated Va Tech (very close game), 12th rated Tx Tech (no comment needed) and 5th rated OU.

I just think there is some voters hangover from past years performance out of NU that biased them against voting for NU.

Iowa beat Penn St

That’s a pretty good “decent” win…

And NU didn’t just lose to OU and Missery they got blasted on national TV

Iowa had one better quality win than us

Penn State even though I think is overrated is still better than any of our wins. Va Tech and Tx Tech were close but still loses by the Huskers.
