Carl Pelini called Martinez, Scout.com's top-rated dual-threat quarterback on the West Coast, the Cornhuskers' best "all-around" recruit in 10 years, Casey Martinez said.
Bo Pelini spoke of the possibility of Taylor playing both ways, Casey Martinez said, with Taylor playing quarterback in certain packages if he were to start at safety. Of course, if Martinez were to start at quarterback, he would not play on defense.
Don't count out that possibility. Martinez, The Times' Glenn Davis Award winner as the top player in Southern California, was the most exciting high school quarterback I have seen since Matt Leinart of Mater Dei, and Leinart turned out OK on the college level.

Hmmm...
TM rated as 3 stars by Rivals and it appears not any big time schools(other than NE) were after him:

I guess you could say we ‘stole’ him from Utah since the Utes are all ‘in season’ and such. But if this guy is so good, i.e., comparisons to Leinhart, why weren’t the big boys after him?

"...don't TAZE me, bro..."
wow,
sorry for the lengthy post, didn’t realize all that would copy, my bad….:(
"...don't TAZE me, bro..."
actually
Blankman recently informed me he won’t be able to do much with recruiting, so post all the recruiting info you like if you want.
I don’t follow it much, but I know others do. We need some coverage. :)

What happened to Blankman?
I was looking forward to his recruiting stuff.
Did we scare him off?

There's no
doubt that Martinez is a great raw athlete and will get better under the tutilege of James Dobson. I wonder where Rex Burkhead ranks because the video of him is pretty impressive as well
"Where do you put the bayonet?" (upon seeing a flamethrower fo the first time)
My guess....
is the reason why nobody elso was chasing him to much as a QB is because of his size. He is only 6’ 0" tall and 175 pounds. Everyone wants the 6’ 4" 225 pounders, (Cody Green). He does have a 38in. vertical and a 4.4 guy in the 40. I would be really surprised to see him at QB. Carl recruited him my guess he will be safety or cornerback. It is a trademark of a Pelini defense to have an excellent athletes at safety.
Quarterback lovefest
If my team recruits them, then they are Huskers once they sign. And I’m loyal to my team’s players. But there’s all kinds of Husker fans proclaiming each of the young incoming quarterbacks as being super human. On many highschool teams, the quarterback is the best all around athlete. Tom Osborne put his share of highschool runningback and some highschool quarterback recruits on the defensive side of the ball.
If I remember correctly, early in the season Cody Green was being projected as a wide receiver prospect rather than a quarterback by some of the recruiting gurus.
Many of the fans can’t get it out of their minds that these highschool quarterbacks aren’t going to put up those ridiculous numbers when they are staring across the line of scrimmage at D1 level defensive players.
