2008 Final CBS Sports Blogpoll Ballot
Below is my final (draft) CBS Sports Blogpoll Ballot of the 2008 season.
First things first. The BCS would have us believe that Oklahoma and Florida were the top two teams in the nation, so you'd think that if the Sooners lost they should be ranked second... if the BCS formula worked. Going into the game, yeah, I thought these were the two teams that should meet, and I would if it were done all over again.
However, with Oklahoma's loss I believe I should acknowledge that other teams, such as Utah, had astounding seasons. USC belongs at number three for the way they manhandled the best team in the Big 10 (can you believe I just wrote that?), and Texas beat both Ohio State and Oklahoma, thus should finish above them.
Others.... Texas Tech or Oregon in the top ten, you tell me.
At at number 25, a homerific vote for Nebraska. We didn't beat anyone special this season, but we certainly had a pretty decent run at the end.

So...by voting Texas ahead of Oklahoma...
…are you saying that Texas should have been in the Big XII Championship game instead of Oklahoma? Frankly, I think Oklahoma played better in their bowl game than Texas. Only difference is the opponents. Texas could get away with playing badly in the Fiesta Bowl.

Penn St. and Ohio State
Ranked way to high they should be in the 15 to 20 range the Big 10 just wasn’t good this year.

Big 10 wasn't good, to be sure...
…but if you look over the top 10, there were a lot of teams in the Top 20 that lost their bowl games, so it was really tough to move anybody over Penn State.
