Nebraska vs San Jose State - Meet the Spartans

San Jose St. Spartans @ Nebraska Cornhuskers

Spartans375_medium

Like the Spartans from '300' They're gonna get killed. The only question is whether or not they'l be as dramatic in the process.

Game Time: 11:30 AM Central

Television: Pay Per View Information

Internet-Streaming Audio: KRNU, Huskers.com
Radio:  Affiliates, Sirius Satellite 127

Live Stats: Huskers.com

Stories: Keys to Victory, Preview (Not A Serious Preview this Week, so you know)

Husker Items of Interest:

As of this morning, Nebraska Cheerleader Katie Rockwell has moved into third and isn't too far behind for second place in the Athlon Spirit contest. She's a ways behind the ACC leader, though.

The #2 Husker Volleyball team swept No. 14 Cal Poly, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) last night, providing further proof that they're not to be taken lightly this season.

NU kicker Alex Henery is perfect so far, and I don't mean this season, but for his Husker career.  The Nebraska and Big 12 record for consecutive field goals is 18, held by our own Kris Brown.

Just about a year ago today we were preparing for Wake Forest. Sorry to do that to you, but I have to ask the same question the politicians love to ask - "When it comes to Husker football, are you better off now than you were four years ago?"

One comment – I don’t care what Barney Cotton says about the other team putting too many guys to block, he’d damn well better figure it out because this is going to happen to use all season. Our offensive line is STILL NOT PHYSICAL enough. He can defend his guy as he’s supposed to, but that doesn’t mean a damned thing if the result is losses.

field goal

hits the upright again.

they have now given up what, a PAT and two field goals, otherwise Sparty would be leading.

Fumble leads to a field goal

14-12 Big Red, 12:17 left in the fourth.

You guys may need to get in gear if you’re going to hit that 56 points you guys were talking about. You might be a little short.

I’ll prolly go to the North Texas Nebraskans watching party next week, the venue is only about 3 miles from my house.

Watch us

give up 24+ to SEMO and I start vomiting from my eyes.

Will you be taking the common “Well, in the end the score was what it should be?” (Which is the right of every football fan), or the less popular “How in the hell was this a single digit game in the fourth quarter?” approach?

When Nevada runs up 30+ on us, I’ll be taking the panic approach.

No

I’ll be taking the “it’s time to adjust your expectations” approach.

This is Pelini’s first year. It’s obvious he can’t correct everything bad that happened in a single season.

Cornkickoff09_160_medium

"Cornhusker Kickoff" is our 2009 preseason yearbook. With 128 pages of analysis, stats, history, and pictures, Cornhusker Kickoff  is the only preseason magazine devoted exclusively to Nebraska football. We'll have more about it soon, but you can pre-order it at Maple Street Press, where it will ship on July 6th. It will be available stores throughout Nebraska where you can find other preseason magazines on July 21st.
If you have comments or feedback, please contact us here at Corn Nation. We're always looking for ways to improve!
