ESPN Gameday Not Likely Next Week

Brent Musberger closed up tonight's "Saturday Night Football" broadcast by announcing that he and Kirk Herbstreit would be in State College for the Penn State-Illinois matchup.  I figure that if ABC feels that game is bigger than the Nebraska-Virginia Tech game, ESPN's Gameday will likely follow

The only other game that could matter is the rivalry game UNM-NMSU

(kidding) but given VTechs struggles and the recent hard on for State Penn University, I would imagine Gameday is headed to State College

they're

trying really hard on the Big 10. I suppose that since Illinois made last year’s Rose Bowl, it has the appearance of a big game, but I wouldn’t expect that it will be that great a game. I would expet that Penn State beats them easily.

This is a far bigger game though, in reality. Nebraska can prove themselves in a way with a win over Va. Tech, and be one game closer to a bowl and one game closer to restoring greatness, or we can drop one and sink to 3-1 just like last year after playing our first legitimate team. I’m excited to actually be able to watch the game too here in Michigan.

But the week after...

What are the odds that – if Nebraska wins the VT game – the GameDay crew will be around for NU-Mizzou? With a win, we’ll have a shot at a Top 25 ranking, and the only other big ranked-on-ranked game will be OSU-Wisconsin (I’ll discount Auburn-Vanderbilt for now). This will likely be the game that decides the Big 12 North, and our history/rebuilding storyline combined with the Tigers’ Top 10 ranking should be enough to get the nod.

looks like

game day will be going to Alabama – Georgia. Lots more drunk nutballs there than anywhere else I’m guessing.

Rather interesting game, too. Does Nick Saban’s devil payback begin this Saturday?
