Wyoming - Nebraska in Denver?

Saw this posted by the Rocky Mountain News:  WYOMING MAY PLAY NEBRASKA AT INVESCO FIELD.  Apparently the Buffs and the Rams have decided to move their annual game back to their on-campus sites after 2010 and there is discussion going on about bringing in Wyoming and Nebraska.  If Cornhusker fans were able to turn Notre Dame stadium into a Red Sea, imagine the possibilities in Denver.  Here's the link.  Wyoming vs Nebraska.  Thoughts?

when

i first saw this, i thought it was a horrible idea.

Now I’m thinking it would be great to have the place full of Husker fans. If CU and CSU are dumb enough to allow this to happen, I say let’s go for it.

What’s the downside?

I would think...

that one of the downsides would be that loss of revenue that 86,000 fans in Lincoln would generate. I agree with you about CU/CSU not being too bright in renewing the series but I’m just wondering what impact the loss of money would have.

I've heard this rumor several times...

It would be two games in Lincoln and one game in Denver. Nebraska gets two home games, and Wyoming essentially gets double the profit for a home game.

that's

a pretty good deal for both teams.

A really really good deal.

The only problem with it is that it’s not in Colorado’s interest to do it, and I mean Colorado and CSU by that. I’m guessing that a metro commission runs their stadium, like most (all?) do, which means it probably won’t face that much opposition if there’s money in it for them.
