Carl Pelini Says We Can Handle Spread
Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini says the performance against New Mexico State showed that the Cornhuskers are capable of standing up against the spread offenses they'll face in coming weeks.
Let's face it, New Mexico State is not Texas Tech and they're certainly not Missouri.
Does this sound like Carl means what he says or do you think he's trying to give the defense some props?

NMSU < TT and Mizzou? No Way!!!
[blatant sarcasm penalty…15 yards from the spot of the foul]
I think the key word there is capable. NMSU tried some trickeration early on and while it worked in the first series after that we adjusted and things started to swing our way. However, I watched most of the Mizzou/Nevada game and the Tigers seemed to score at will. Hopefully they won’t be that confident in Lincoln, but they sure looked smooth at home in that game.
confidence for the players...
I think Carl said this to increase confidence in a defense that got SMOKED last year.
I am sure CARL understands the difference between the an average WAC team (Huskers 2-0 in the WAC) and top 10 team.
