Londen Fryar - Son Of Irving - Scorned by Billy C

Nice article about Irving Fryar's son, Londen, currently playing for Western Michigan.

Gives a profile of Irving Fryar, along with some background about Londen. As a father, I thought it was interesting how Irving kept him out of football for a while. And then you get this shot about Bill Callahan, and once again, we get a reference to the fact that Callahan's people skills SUCKED FRIGGIN' EGGS.

"I went and took a DVD (of Londen playing high school football) and put it in the hand of coach (Bill) Callahan," Irving said of now the former Huskers coach, who was fired last fall after four seasons. "I never got a call. ... I was very disappointed with the way coach Callahan handled that."

Not all that shocking now that we know what we know. Not to be outdone, Irving Fryar gets his shot in against Bill Callahan and his crew:

"When I went down there and saw some of the guys at Nebraska, Londen could've played there," said Irving, who's still close with legendary Huskers coach and new athletics director Tom Osborne, who fired Callahan shortly after coming back to the University. "At Nebraska now (with a new -- and old -- regime), under the same scenario, no hesitation ... Londen would have been offered a scholarship."

Kablam!!!!

Londen Fryar has been First-Team All-MAC the past two seasons.

What's that smell?

Oh yes, it’s Fryar Jr’s jersey. Dude got toasted.

This was a crap story....

Fryars son verballed to Western Michigan exactly 4 days after Bill Callahan was introduced as coach. Not calling Irving a liar, but I sense a little revisionist history. Where is the hand wringing over the fact that Solich never offered the kid either? Callahan is such an easy target that people are willing to accept any random POS story that puts him in a bad light.
