Hoops Picks Up Big Recruit
The Journal-Star and World-Herald are reporting that 6-9 (and still growing) center/PF Vander Joaquim will be decommitting from San Diego and committing to Nebraska, following the assistant, Brain Roese, who recruited him.
Joaquim is a native of Angola, and has played as a member of their national team. He averaged 21 pts and 17 boards during his junior season of high school.
Joaquim is looking to be the first cornerstone in the 2009-10 incoming freshman class, big enough to make an impact and talented enough that he'll likely play right away.
