UT-San AntonioÕs win against Baylor midweek was their first in 23 games against Baylor, a streak that dated back to 1994.
Then in Big 12 play, Baylor proves they can win at home, sweeping Kansas. Baylor needed the wins to stay in favorable position for postseason play. A series loss might have been.É disastrous. If Baylor canÕt pick up a series win at Manhattan next week itÕll say a lot about how bad their road game is.
Kansas 1-4 Tue., Apr. 1 Wichita State 7, Kansas 3
Wed., Apr. 2 Kansas 13, Saint Mary (Kan.) 0
Fri., Apr. 4 Baylor 4, Kansas 3

Sun., Apr. 6 Baylor 17, Kansas 7

Texas Tech (54)
Kansas drove themselves further into the basement of the Big 12 this past weekend. They lost in nasty fashion, walking in a run to lose Friday nightÕs game, then giving up four homers in a 16-hit game stopped in seven innings due to the Sunday run rule. Kansas has now lost six straight conference games.
Kansas State 2-3 Tue., Apr. 1 Kansas State 6, Central Arkansas 0
Wed., Apr. 2 Kansas State 13, Central Arkansas 6

Sat., Apr. 5 Texas A&M 13, Kansas State 8
Sun., Apr. 6 Texas A&M 14, Kansas State 4

Baylor (40)
The Wildcats travel to College Station and get swept, giving up 34 runs in three games. Kansas State is currently fighting the Jayhawks for the bottom of the conference.
Missouri 2-3 Tue., Apr. 1 Western Illinois 5, Missouri 3
Wed., Apr. 2  Missouri 10, Lincoln (Mo) 2
Fri., Apr. 4 Missouri 3, Oklahoma State 0
Sat., Apr. 5 Oklahoma State 6, Missouri 2
Sun., Apr. 6 Oklahoma State 8, Missouri 6

Missouri loses their second straight conference series. ItÕs somewhat understandable that theyÕd lose on the road at Texas Tech last weekend, but this weekend they were at home. Pitcher Aaron Crow continues to be phenomenal, having throw 42.2 straight scoreless innings. Friday he threw his third complete game shutout of the season.
The Tigers simply canÕt score runs. Their lack of offense is losing them games against teams like Oklahoma State.
Nebraska 3-0 Fri., Apr. 4 Nebraska 6, Texas Tech 2
Sat., Apr. 5 Nebraska 5, Texas Tech 2
Sun., Apr. 6 Nebraska 5, Texas Tech 3
@Iowa (208)
@Oklahoma State (19)
Unlike Missouri, Nebraska is generating just enough offense to win their games. They recorded their second straight conference sweep of the season, earlier sweeping Kansas State at Manhattan. The combination of good pitching with opportunistic hitting and great small ball play keeps the Huskers on top the Big 12.
Johnny Dorn continues to win on Friday, and Thad Weber dominated again Saturday, recording a career-high 11 strike outs.
Oklahoma 2-2 Tue., Apr. 1 Oklahoma 8, Dallas Baptist 4
Fri., Apr. 4 Texas 10, Oklahoma 7
Sat., Apr. 5 Oklahoma 5, Texas 3
Sun., Apr. 6 Texas 13, Oklahoma 6
@Wichita State (30)
@Texas A&M (44)
Oklahoma drops a conference series against Texas at home, and drops further down the conference ladder. It was a big series for both teams, Oklahoma needed it to stay out of the basement, while Texas needed it to stay within striking distance of the top of the conference.
Oklahoma State 2-1 Fri., Apr. 4 Missouri 3, Oklahoma State 0
Sat., Apr. 5 Oklahoma State 6, Missouri 2
Sun., Apr. 6 Oklahoma State 8, Missouri 6
Western Illinois (267)
Nebraska (6)
Saturday, Oklahoma State starter Tyler Lyons recorded his second complete game of the season, allowing just two runs on seven hits.
Sunday, Luis Flores drove in five runs as Oklahoma State took their first road conference series of the season. ItÕs symbolic of the difference between the two teams and picking up a series on the road at Columbia is huge for the Cowboys.
Next weekÕs series against Nebraska looms very large as it will be a showdown between Husker pitching and Okie StateÕs offense.
Texas 3-2 Tue., Apr. 1 Rice 7, Texas 3
Wed., Apr. 2 Texas 7, Texas Southern 4
Fri., Apr. 4 Texas 10, Oklahoma 7
Sat., Apr. 5 Oklahoma 5, Texas 3
Sun., Apr. 6 Texas 13, Oklahoma 7
Texas State (86)
@Missouri (27)
Texas showed some moxie going on the road and taking the series against Oklahoma. In what may signal a turn-around to the Longhorn season, Kyle Russell  led the Longhorns in their 13-7 Sunday win with three hits and four RBI. Friday he hit the ÔHorns first grand slam of the season with his second homer of the year.
The Texas - Missouri series next week was to be the series that many thought would determine the Big 12 winner. Instead it now determines which team will stay atop the conference and which will be driven back towards the middle of the pack.
BTW, the Oklahoma web site shows Sunday as a 13-6 game. Texas shows it as 13-7.
Texas A&M 5-0 Tue., Apr. 1 Texas A&M 8, SFA 1
Wed., Apr. 2 Texas A&M 5, SFA 4
Fri., Apr. 4 Texas A&M 7, Kansas State 2
Sat., Apr. 5 Texas A&M 13, Kansas State 8
Sun., Apr. 6 Texas A&M 14, Kansas State 4
@Houston (36)
Oklahoma (35)
Texas A&M picked up a sweep at home against the Wildcats. Not exactly earth-shattering, as it was the top batting team against the worst. Saturday, the Aggies scored 12 runs after being down 7-1 in the sixth. Sunday, Luke Anders hit two, two-run homers, keeping Texas A&M in second place in the Big 12.
Texas Tech 2-3 Tue., Apr. 1 Texas Tech 6,  TAMU- Corpus Christi 1
Wed., Apr. 2 Texas Tech 10, TAMU- Corpus Christi 5
Fri., Apr. 4 Nebraska 6, Texas Tech 2
Sat., Apr. 5 Nebraska 5, Texas Tech 2
Sun., Apr. 6 Nebraska 5, Texas Tech 3
New Mexico (39)
@Kansas (155)
A noteworthy week at Tech, as coach Larry Hays become only the fourth coach in NCAA history to win 1,500 wins as Tech beat TAMU-Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
Other than that, with the sweep at Nebraska, Tech stays in the bottom third of the conference. They have a chance to improve as they travel to Kansas next weekend. It will be a test as to whether Tech can push themselves to the middle.
