Nebraska Baseball versus Northern Colorado
Nebraska was scheduled to start a series with the Northern Colorado Bears on Friday, however, the four-game series will be pushed back a day, to start on Saturday at 2:05 pm. The double-header will be on Sunday, starting at 12:05 pm, and the series will conclude Monday at 1:35 pm.
The Husker baseball series with Northern Colorado begins with a single game today at 2:05, then continues with a doubleheader Sunday at 12:05 and finishes with a game at 1:35 Monday afternoon. The series was pushed back a day due to cold weather. Saturday's high will be around 40. Maybe.
Northern Colorado typically comes to Lincoln posing as a weekend warm-up series for the Huskers. Nebraska has won 22 of the 25 games between the two schools. This year the Bears come in after splitting a four-games series with ranked Texas A&M and winning a series against Southeast Missouri State so they may not play the patsy as well as they have in previous seasons.
Former Huskers pitcher Jon Klausing will face Dan Jennings on Sunday. Klausing battled injuries during his career at Nebraska and decided to start anew at Northern Colorado.

There isn't a lot of great college baseball being played this weekend around the nation. One of the more interesting series takes place in Austin, where Stanford has a series with Texas. Texas took game one 5-2 Friday. Longhorns pitcher Austin Woods pitched 7.2 innings with eight strike outs and gave up only two runs.
The rest of the Big 12 line up includes:
- Baylor at Mississippi State
- Kansas against North Dakota State in a double header on Sunday
- Kansas State at home against LeMoyne
- Missouri at home against Indiana State,
- Oklahoma at home against Western Illinois,
- Oklahoma State plays a decent slate in the San Diego State tournament where they'll face San Diego, San Diego State and Santa Clara
- Texas A&M at home against Rutgers
- Texas Tech against Northern Illinois and Texas State

Baseball America's John Manuel shows NU some love
This from BA's weekly college baseball chat:
Q: Peter from Chicago asks:
Was Nebraska's 4 game sweep of the Co-Big West Champs this weekend a blip on the college baseball radar?
A: John Manuel: Not for me, they also played Stanford tough last weekend. Nebraska has a lot of seniors and a lot of newcomers. Sometimes that mix works out and so far so good. Right now, Johnny Dorn is leading they way for the whole staff, and he's a great senior leader to have for a pitching staff because he knows how to pitch and he's seen it all, good and bad. Encouraging start for sure.
cool!
Thank you for the news!
I'd agree, so far so good. This weekend should result in a bunch of wins and let the newcomers some experience.....
