thanks
for posting this, Mike.
This was a wonderful victory for Buffalo, and for Gill. One of the best, if not the best postgame speeches by a coach, giving credit to everyone else.
Man…. I don’t know if Gill will ever coach at a huge program, because I’m not sure if he’s called to do that, but this was just a great victory for a program that had nothing before he got there.
He’s been my favorite Husker ever since watching him while I was at Nebraska, and I’m just so happy for him. Hell, I cried when I saw that speech. Great stuff. Great stuff.

Watch that
and try not to get a little misty.
Class Act. Awesome job, congrats to Coach Gill and Buffalo.

Great game for the Bulls
I watched the game and found myself getting as into it as a regular Husker game!! I think the postgame interview tells all. He truly is a coach that cares about his players and winning is just a by product of doing everything else right way. That is refreshing to see in the “look at me” college football of today. His players sure do respond to him. Great job Coach Gill and good luck in the future where ever it takes you!!

Just Read
The Birmingham News reported on the Dec 6th that Auburn has sought and recieved permission to interview Turner Gill. Great for him I hope all goes well.

Auburn
man, what a burner Auburn would be.
I mean going to the SEC – is anyone ever happy there? He’d have a lot bigger environment to work with, but in the SEC you’re a victim of your own success sooner or later.
I don’t think Gill is about money, he sees college football as a mission statement – and I mean mission as in Christ’s mission. I try not to get too religious or political here, but it might as well come out sooner or later.
College football is cut throat. I think the question is – we’re seeing college football coaches get paid a lot to be beat to death. Is that Turner Gill? Or am I wrong?

That YouTube video...
…is getting a lot of hits from Auburn fans, asking him to “come home”. (Funny thing is that I don’t think Turner Gill has ever lived within 800 miles of Alabama…)
While an SEC job carries the prestige and money to set Turner Gill for life, I’m not sure that’s the job Turner Gill wants next.

Syracuse
We want him here in Syracuse. It would be a great move for Gill. The road to the BCS is much easier through the Big East than the SEC and he already has the ties to recruiting in the Northeast and knows how to sell the cold harsh winters to recruits.

Syracuse over Auburn
I think the instant pressure at Auburn will be tough for whoever gets the job, it is a win right now job. Syracuse and the fans know that it is going to take a few seasons and I imagine would just love to be competitive again then move into BCS consideration. Plus, you are definately right the road to the BCS is easier through the Big East. I think he would be a better fit at Syracuse than Auburn because he could build it from the ground up. Similar to what he did at Buffalo. But if he ends up at either place I think he will be successful.

Heck
why not just stay at Buffalo and turn them into a MNC contender?? Yeah I know it probably wouldn’t happen but…..
I just wonder what all the guys who said Gill wasn’t ready for a big time coaching job are saying today. He was definitely ready to be the head Husker last year. Again happy with Bo but man I am afraid be missed something here.
