Husker Hoops Game #6: Alabama State at NU Open Game Thread

Alabama State Hornets (1-3) at Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-0)

7 PM, Bob Devaney Sports Center, Lincoln, NE

TV: FSN Midwest in Nebraska, ESPN Full Court/ESPN 360

Radio: Husker Sports Network

Media Previews: Huskers.com, Journal-Star, World-Herald

Alabama State isn't the sort of opponent that a team like Nebraska generally worries about, but they were the SWAC Conference Champion (in the regular season) last year.  They've got some size, including a 7-1 Center named Chief Kickingstallionsims (good for honorary captain of the All-Name Team).

Nebraska will probably win, but this is more important as a final warm-up before this weekend's west coast swing against 19th-ranked Arizona State and Oregon State.

Oh, and if you haven't been paying attention, NU got a vote in the AP Top 25 this week.  The Huskers haven't been ranked since January of 1995, but with a win in Tempe this weekend, and that could change.

Anyway, join us tonight for the final tune-up game before the Sun Devils.  As always, accounts are free.

I just hope we can shoot like this Sunday...

Arizona State plays a lot of zone, and Baylor was able to beat them by shooting lights-out from 3

NU is 6-0 heading to Arizona State. It’s about the best start I could have asked for.

I’ll have a report card and wrap-up later tonight.
