Ask A Wildcat
Hello, Husker fans, my name is TB and I am dutifully posting this so you can ask whatever you want about the program formerly known as "K-State Football."
Fire away with whatever is most uppermost in your mind about the game that will apparently be played on Saturday in conditions suitable only for Antarctica.
I really hate trying to fill this 75-word minimum, and it increases the chances that I'll commit a typo and be subject to righteous scorn forever. OK, that should about do it.
Seriously, have at it. I'll check back often.

And it seems...
I’ve lied to you already. The forecast high in Manhattan is now supposed to be 47, which is warmer than it gets in Antarctica even when the sun shines in summer.
My deepest apologies.

How is Banks still running around?
I had figured he’d make 3-4 B12 games before he got planted by a safety and ceased to be.

That was my fear, too
I was really worried that he might get drilled and end up really hurt. In fact, he’s taken a couple pretty good shots throughout the course of the season, but every time he just bounces right back up. One thing working in his factor is his shiftiness. Everybody always had the same fears about Darren Sproles taking a big hit and getting hurt, but it’s so hard to get a clean shot at a player like that. Banks is very fast, and he ducks and darts all over the place, so it’s really hard to get a clean shot at him.

Manhattan Guide-
So TB I’m at KSU now, and was going to make a list of places Husker fans should hit while in Manhattan. So far I have thought of-
Coco Bolos in Aggieville. Great mexican food, and I hear margaritas (though I can long drink tequila) are great as well.
Gumby’s pizza in Aggieville. Most NU fans will not have experienced the drunk pizza food that is Gumby’s. You should only eat this while drunk though…
Willies/ The Pub Off of Seth Child west side of town. Sports bars, with lots of TV’s. The Pub sits underneath Willies. Both are smoke free (nothing is smoke free down here yet, not even the restaurants, so bring your smokes people) Willies has great food, even if you have to look at a picture of Crouch getting his facemask ripped off while eating. I also saw Bill Snyder in there once. I considered grabbing some ketchup painting a red “N” on his shirt and yelling Go Big Red!, but thought that might be rude. They also have hot wait staff.
Little Apple Brewery Not far from campus in Westloop center, off of Clafin, or Anderson. Sometimes great food, other times I have not been impressed. Some people love their beers, I’m not a fan.
Doe’s Eat Place Just off of Seth Child. Great steaks. their menu has steaks and that’s about it. They also have fresh fried potatoes, and fried biscuits, you know health food. I think it’s a chain down south, but I had never seen one until I moved to Manhattan. It’s pricey, but I think worth it. Also they cook your food once you order, so expect to wait some.
Other than that check out Aggieville for the bar scene. You can watch people via live web cam at Aggieville here-

You got anything to add?

So Long Saloon
is the place to go. I will live and die by the Jack Smack burger – just excellent.
First get your name on the list. Then order a Boulevard Wheat. Then when you finally get a table, start off with another Boulevard Wheat. For an appetizer go with the raspberry bean dip – also very good. Then drink another Boulevard Wheat. For the main course, you guessed – the Jack Smack burger. You will leave full, happy, and extremely satisfied.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
You can...
…also try a new beer that is brewed in Manhattan: Tallgrass. They have a wheat and a pale ale. Both very good, in my opinion.

The darker one is good
I think the wheat tastes like hot dog water. But Tallgrass in general is a good beer.

Not a bad start at all
Last year, I wrote a Guide to Manhattan post that I think would be helpful to any visiting fan. I’ll hit a few highlights below.
Gumby’s: I actually kind of like Gumby’s pizza, but it is better consumed as a hangover-prevention food. For another food choice when too much alcohol is involved, you may try Bob’s Diner on the east side of town. It’s a greasy spoon restaurant that has been helping hungover students for many years.
Willie’s/The Pub: Great job of including this place. I was introduced to it last year — I’ve been gone from Manhattan almost three years now — and it is a great place to get some food, watch a game, and have a pretty good beer selection. Love the smoke-free atmosphere, too.
Coco Bolo’s: You pretty much nailed it. If you like Sangria, you would be well-advised to try it here.
Don’t miss So Long Saloon while in Manhattan. In my opinion, it’s the best food in town. Small place, though, so it fills up quickly and gets very crowded. Waits can be long, so grab a few beers and have some patience. It’s worth it.
As for the bars, I recommend (in no particular order): Porter’s, Kite’s, Purple Pig, Tubby’s, O’Malley’s (for a Belfast), Rusty’s Next Door, and maybe that new Kat House place. As JLew mentioned, the smoking ban has not yet taken effect, but if you want to get away from the smoke, Porter’s has a front porch, Kite’s has a non-smoking wing now, and I believe Kat House is non-smoking.
If anyone has other questions about Manhattan, fire away.

No questions huh?
Hey TB the link in your sigy, “Bring on the Cats” does not work. Page not found.
Anyway how do you think Prince will attack the NU secondary? Will he try and establish the run, or will it be bombs away from the get go? I’d just bomb away, KSU has no running game anyway.
Also what are the odds we see a fake field goal, or punt? What about a fake punt from their own 20 yard line again?

Thanks for the head's up
I’m sure we’ll throw the ball all over the field, as we’ve done all year. As you pointed out, we don’t have much of a running game. I’d like to see us at least try to establish the run, because our play calling has pretty much put the burden on Freeman to try and win every game. He’s a good quarterback, but it’s not a formula to win.
I’d guess you’ll see some sort of bold-and-daring play, just not sure what. I don’t have the stats on it, but I’m guessing we’ve run some sort of fake in about half our games this year. It’s anyone’s guess as to what will happen now that Prince knows he’s on his way out. He ran an onside kick last week against Missouri, down 24, with less than 1:30 left, causing much unhappiness among the Mizzou fans who had to sit out in the cold an extra five minutes.
