2008 CBS Sports Blog Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings - Week Eleven Initial Ballot

This week's initial blogpoll ballot. Below are the top five.

#1 - Alabama

#2 - Texas Tech

#3 - Oklahoma

#4 - Florida

#5 - Texas

I thought about moving Texas Tech above Alabama because of 'Bama's close win over LSU, but that's where you guys come in. Who do you think should be #1?

Otherwise, fire away!

What do you

think?? If NU wins out and goes 8-4 do they get rated?? I am not saying we deserve to be rated today or anything just asking if that is enough to get us rated come Dec. 1. I see that both KU and Western Michingan are getting votes to be rated yet NU who has beat both of those teams is getting NONE. Makes a lot of sense huh. And you wonder why I say we need a different system.

Also dont understand why you have Ball St. rated so far below Boise St. Yeah they dont have a great win but BSUs best is against Oregon. I understand having them ranked below Utah as their schedule is a little better but Ball St and Boise St are pretty much the same.

8-4 gets rated...

I’m sure of it. By the time we hit our bowl game, we’ll be ranked at least 24th.

I'm going to argue...

…for Tech at No. 1. Alabama’s best win is now against LSU (No. 20 BCS), and after that its best wins are over Clemson (unranked) and Georgia (No. 10 BCS). Tech now owns wins over Texas (No. 3 this week in the BCS) and Oklahoma State (No. 13 BCS). Granted, you may give ‘bama a little more credit because both of its big wins were on the road, while both of Tech’s came at home. But the way Tech is playing, I believe they look like the best team in the country.

I figure

that if Tech wins against Oklahoma (a tall order), they’ve got it hands down.

Winning at Tiger stadium at night….. counts for a lot, even though I don’t think LSU is that great a football team this year.

You know, I don’t even like Alabama that much. Well, not at all. Maybe I’ll change it out of spite.

Two

replies and two VERY VERY good reasons to have a point system and a playoff.

Big 12 rankings

What’s going on? On the homepage for this website it shows the Big 12 standings and you guys have Kansas ahead of Nebraska. What’s the deal? I thought this was Husker fan website. NU and KU have the same schedule, but NU beat KU in the head-to-head. NU should be ahead of KU… some websites don’t care when ranking 2 teams with the same record, but this is a Husker website… what’s the deal?

You also have OU ahead of TX. Both have the same record, but TX won the head-to-head.

Those are...

…automatically updated. It’s not something corn blight or any of the other moderators here intentionally did.

what he said

at this point, it doesn’t matter much. If Mizzou wins against Iowa State this weekend, they win the Big 12 North. And then they finish against Kansas, and they should win that game.

We should win our next two, which would put us at 5-3. Kansas has Texas, Missouri, games they probably will lose. That’ll put them at 3-5 so it’s not something I’d worry too much about.

Like TB says, that’s automatically updated.
