Move to Spread Because of Blocking?

Interesting stuff at Husker Extra:

I found this an interesting quote. I was asking Tim Beck about the play of Roy Helu, and while giving his response, he talked about how his running backs had to do some adjusting to the different offensive philosophy we've seen from NU the last two weeks.

Nebraska has gone much more out of the shotgun, eliminating more of the power sets. And the change, Beck said, gave the running backs a whole different look they had to get used to running from.

Have we moved to the shotgun more because our guys aren't that good at drive blocking or what? Not that I'm complaining, at least the offense looks alive, although it'd be better if they were capable of pounding out three or four yards a carry.

Power sets require blocking tight ends - I don't think they ever came around this season.....
