Nate Swift - Movin' On Up The Charts!
Nate Swift is moving up the Cornhusker history record charts at Nebraska.
Swift entered this season in fourth-place in all-time receptions with 103. He was at number three in career receiving yardage at 1,535 and third in career 100 yard games. So far this season, Swift has accumulated
The All-Time Receptions record is the one everyone is talking about, but that's not the ony record Swift is approaching.
| Player | Position | Years | No. | Yards | Avg. | TD |
| 1. Johnny Rodgers | WB | 1970-72 | 143 | 2,479 | 17.3 | 25 |
| 2. Nate Swift |
WR | 2005-present | 136 | 2,021 |
14.9 | 16 |
| 3. Terrence Nunn |
WR | 2004-07 | 136 | 1,762 | 12.9 | 11 |
| 4. Marlon Lucky | IB | 2005-present | 126 | 1,281 | 10.1 | 4 |
| 5. Matt Davison | SE | 1997-2000 | 93 | 1,456 | 15.7 | 6 |
It would be a tall order, but it's still possible for Swift to catch Rodgers in 100 yard games. I'm not so sure about catching the touchdown record.

Hate to see
Johnny the Jets’ records get broken but it couldn’t have been done by a better player. I for one hope he does get one or more of the records.

So
how many tds does he have? In the chart showing # of catches it says 11 but the last chart shows 16. JR has 25 in both charts. So is it 11 or 16?

Nate
has always been one of my favorites. I think he is faster then most people give him credit for. He is also a decent blocker. Would have fit in well with the old style as well as this one. I think he is very very underrated. He will play on Sunday.
To be honest though there are very very few players that I dont like. You will very seldom find a post from me bitching about a player. Franz Hardy was one I didn’t care for but really cant think of many more off the top of my head. Hardy seemed to be good for at least on drop a game, but I understood why he was on the field, the guy could flat out fly and if he got behind the d and caught the ball it was a huge gain if not a td.
The reason I dont bitch about players is that they are here because the coaches thought they were good enough to be here and if they are wrong its not the players fault but theirs. If they dont improve it is because the coaches are either not teaching them right or they are not paying attention in practice. Either way if they are on the field and continue to make the same mistakes that again is the coaches fault. They should be benched. They only get on the field if the coach says so.
You have to have players who can play the game but it is up to coaches to continue to teach these players (they are afterall just kids) and to design a game plan that fits the players you have. You try to get players to fit your scheme but if you dont have that type of player it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to try to do something they are not capable of.
