2008 CBS Sports Blog Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings - Week Eight Ballot
Once again, it's Blogpolling time!
Did anyone expect Texas to steamroll Missouri in the way they did? Not only did we see the Longhorns exert themselves as the clear cut #1 team, but we saw Chase Daniel's Heisman fly away with each Colt McCoy completion.
#2 - Alabama? Not after last weekend. The Tide have yet to put together a full game, which showed against Ole Miss. Therefore, they drop a bit.
#3 - Oklahoma rises. Their only loss is against Texas, and while it took them a while to do it, they put the beat down on Kansas.
#4 - Oklahoma State - maybe a bit high, right? Could be, but they go to Texas this coming week, and if they get destroyed, I promise to hammer them. I'm not particularly fond of the IMAMAN's, but they are undefeated and playing good football.
#5 - Alabama, dropping. Trying playing two halves, guys.

Didnt
you just say last week that you couldn’t drop a team for winning even when they played bad? Now you do it to Alabama? Make up your mind. Bama should still be #2.
Besides you bitch about the Big 10 being so weak and then move one of them up to #2? Who has PSU beaten? Wisconsin? thats proving to be not such a big deal. Bama has at least beaten Georgia. Are you going into politics because you flip flop about as much as they do.

i had
considered going into politics, but i don’t like the baby kissing part.
The Big 10 is weak, but that doesn’t mean that Penn State isn’t playing good football. Who has PSU beaten – the correct answer is “Every one they’ve played.”
Wow….. I thought I’d get hammered for having Okie State in the top five, not for dropping Alabama. You really think ’Bama should be #2 ahead of Penn State?

Yes
the schedule they have played is a lot tougher then the PSU schedule. Why would they deserve to drop after winning? They have also “beaten everyone they have played” and that says a lot more then it does for PSU. Why does PSU deserve to move up? If a SEC team is undefeated it should mean more then a Big 10 team being undefeated because the conference is a hell of a lot tougher. Same with the Big 12. They are a lot tougher then the Big 10 and I would argue that they are tougher then the SEC.

This also
brings me to another reason I hate the polls. OU started out ranked high (and they should have) and they lose but barely drop so you now have them at #3 ahead of unbeaten Bama. Now I am not a Bama fan but do feel the only reason you are dropping them is that they are in the SEC and, boy doesnt it look good to have 3 Big XII teams ahead of an undefeated SEC team.
My top 10 would look like this
1. Texas
2. Bama
3. PSU
4. Texas Tech
5. OU
6. Okie St.
7. Florida
8. USC
9. LSU
10. Georgia

you
make good points.
Which is why we encourage feedback on these things. Takes my hatred (envy? jealousy? ha!) of the SEC out of the equation, doesn’t it?

Sorry
that was two weeks ago in the comments section. You said you couldn’t drop a team for winning.

Still think Okie State isn't Top Five yet...
…but this weekend will tell us for sure.
I’d leave Bama at #3 or #4.
Texas Tech is not Top Ten material. I’d drop them just above Boise. Seriously. Nebraska’s the best team they’ve played.
