2008 CBS Sports Blog Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings - Week Seven

As you know, the Blog Poll has become part of the CBS Sports polls. Our initial ballots are due by 10:00 am Monday and are to be finalized by Wednesday, the idea being that we solicit feedback from all y'all as to how we should be voting.

Take a look and let me know.

Star-divide

RankTeamDelta
1 Texas 4
2 Alabama 2
3 Penn State 5
4 Texas Tech 2
5 Oklahoma State 4
6 Florida 6
7 Brigham Young --
8 Oklahoma 7
9 Kansas 1
10 Missouri 8
11 Southern Cal 3
12 Utah 1
13 LSU 10
14 Georgia 1
15 Boise State 2
16 Ohio State --
17 Virginia Tech 1
18 North Carolina 4
19 Michigan State 4
20 Wake Forest 6
21 Florida State --
22 Georgia Tech 3
23 Vanderbilt 10
24 Tulsa 2
25 South Florida 5

Dropped Out: California (#24), Wisconsin (#25).

Only one team here from the Pac 10 - USC. If anyone else should be there, whom should it be and whom should they replace?

I'm not ranking Florida way high - they beat a LSU team badly at home. Maybe I'm being unfair to the SEC. Big 12 Homerism at work?

OSU and TTU…and then move them both down about 3 or 4 spots….

BYU…overrated.

KU…way overrated.

USC…underrated.

That’s all I have for now.

I can

understand why you’d make that comment about Tech, but Oklahoma State went on the road and beat one of the best teams in the nation.

USC – probably underrated, but they lost to an unranked team, granted on the road, but they were manhandled in the game.

KU – probably overrated.

As for BYU – they’ve destroyed everything in their path.

Yea...

I should have clarified….

I think USC, OU, and Florida would beat either TTU or Okie St on a neutral field….which is why I would have them lower.

I missed KU and MU…..MU will destroy KU this year….KU shouldn’t be anywhere near the top 10. The absolute best they can hope for this season is 8-4….and they better hope we don’t continue to gel over the next three weeks….

Missouri should be well above Kansas...

Missouri lost to Oklahoma State. Kansas lost to South Florida…and nearly lost to Iowa State. You are penalizing Oklahoma way too much for a loss to Texas; at least keep them above Florida, who lost to Ole Miss at home.

I would say

that he is doing the same to LSU for losing to Florida. AT the swamp. Even though they were beaten soundly not many teams come out of there with a win or even a close loss. Still think they are a top 10.

I have

to admit that one way I look at these….. it comparing where they were the week before. I can’t justify dropping a team because they’ve won, can I?

(Well, I guess I can do whatever the hell I want).

But…. does a later season loss count more than an early season loss? Doesn’t it?

You did

earlier this year when you dropped Mizzu for losing to Illinois. So I guess you can.

Mizzou

didn’t lose to Illinois. I believe I dropped Illinois pretty hard, but that’s because I believed they weren’t very good. I was RIGHT! (I don’t get to say that very often, I’m so excited!)
