A Disturbing Trend for the Husker Defense

Per play average is increasing as is the amount of yardage give up by the defense. Not exactly an improvement, is it? In case you're wondering: Opponents National Ranking in Total Offense As of September 22nd:
Nevada: 37
Wake Forest: 86
USC: 23
Ball State: 18
Iowa State: 83

Balls Tate is evidently one of the better offenses around, though their stats come against 'lesser' competition, so they say--guess that includes NE.
NE's D has got to stop this tendency toward 'upward mobility'!

What Defense
Doesn't say much any way you slice it. If you can't stop the run (i.e. Wake and Southern Cal) or the pass (i.e. Ball) then how do you expect to keep up with run happy Oklahoma or Texas A.M. or pass happy Mizzou or dare I say Kansas.
