The Lincoln Journal-Star is reporting that five current and former players are at the root of an internal investigation into whether players tried to exchange school-issued bats for store credit at Scheel's Sporting Goods.
Scheel's staff contacted the Nebraska baseball coaches and within 24 hours, the transactions were reversed, according to the Omaha World-Herald. The athletic department continues to investigate the situation and it's likely that there will be a report to the NCAA.
While it looks like the coaching staff and administration handled this situation correctly and immediately, it's yet another bad-news situation regarding Husker baseball players.
