With Video Games, the Husker Football Season Never Really Ends
In real life, Nebraska's football season ended prematurely with a 5-7 record. No bowl game for the second time in the last four years. So the hell with reality...bring on virtual football, where the season never ends!
Yes, that's right, it's time to break out the Playstation or Xbox and keep this season alive. Tomorrow, KOZN 1620 AM in Omaha will feature the "American Research Professionals Bowl That Never Was" between the Cornhuskers and Notre Dame.
Not to be outdone, KETV-Channel 7 presented the "Christmas Bowl" yesterday between the Huskers and Division II Nebraska-Omaha. They billed it as a "Fantasy Game"...which is the only way this game could even be.
A game between a Big XII/BCS team, and a division 2 team?
Played at the 10,000 seat Al Caniglia Field in Omaha instead of Memorial Stadium?
If that's not far fetched, check out the results:
The Blackshirts do not allow a touchdown. (Well, it is a D-2 program...)
But...the Huskers get shutout (after averaging 54 points a game in November) and lose 12-0.
So do any of you play these video games? Have any of you tried to keep the Husker season alive through virtual reality?

Football, though..... wow. With the EA Sports NCAA games, you can build your own little world and live in it. It's pretty cool, actually.
I have no idea how many times you'd have to replay a simulator to get the score and the game they simulated, but I suppose it gives people something to talk about.
