- Mizzou has not beaten Nebraska 3 straight times in Columbia since 1957 (W, 14-13), 1959 (W, 9-0) and 1961 (W, 10-0)
- A win over Nebraska would give Mizzou its second straight season of at least a 5-0 start for the 1st time in school history, and only the 8th ever.
- The last time that Mizzou entered a game as the higher-ranked team than Nebraska was in 1969, when the 7th-ranked Tigers claimed a 17-7 win over the 20th-ranked Cornhuskers, in Columbia.

Keys To The Game
- Run the Ball
Nebraska must establish the run to win this game. In fact, it wouldn't be so bad if we were a little boring on offense. There's nothing that'll take the gas out of a crowd that's been 'preparing' all day like boring the to death making four yards a carry up the middle.
- Consistency
Mizzou's offense will be all over the place. The versatility along with their athletes is why they'll be a threat to anyone they play the rest of the season. Sticking with the 'boring' them, Nebraska's offense needs to be more consistent than versatile. Do the simple well and make them stop it, and that consistency sets up the trickeration, which will further frustrate the Mizzou fans.
- Crowd control.
Getting on the scoreboard early, a big hit by the defense, an interception return, or special teams play - it doesn't matter. Get the crowd out of the game.
- Win turnovers
Adi Kunalic should negate Mizzou's return game, as should Dan Titchener, so we should be okay on special teams. Both of these teams are going to have a turnover, maybe even two. The first team to three turnovers will likely lose. Let's make sure it's the Tigers.
