Nebraska wins it in four games, 27-30, 30-26, 30-28, 30-27. An excellent match, Stanford fought all the way through the game, but couldn't come up with the clutch points when needed.

Nebraska's Sarah Pavan was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Volleyball juggernaut

Terry Pettit built the program into a national power, ala Bob Devaney. Coach Cook has kept the Huskers a national power, ala Tom Osborne. Things are good.

Rally scoring has made it a game that can captivate a man's interest that in years past wasn't there. With a young 'only gonna get better' setter and the best talent and program in D1a college '07 is also going to be a barnburner. Husker volleyball sends shudders to many opponents like Husker football perennially did in the past dominant era.

oh yeah

funny if we were talking about nearly any other sport, we'd be seeing half the team leave to go pro.

I have never seen an article regarding Pettit and the coaches he produced, but it would certainly add to his legacy.

Husker Volleyball Graduates

I believe Iowa State's head coach is a Husker grad. And think there are more in Division 1. It is highly likely that some are Division 1 assistants, at smaller colleges and at the high school level. Some are playing pro in Europe.

Nebraska's team will be the preseason #1 for '07.
