Danny Woodhead Wins The Harlon Hill Trophy

PrintDanny Woodhead of Chadron State has won the Harlon Hill trophy, given to the best player in Division II. This is Woodhead's third straight season as a candidate for the award.
Woodhead received 187 total points in the voting, winning by a 87-point margin over the second-place finisher. Woodhead received 48 first-place votes and received points on 73 of the ballots cast by Division II sports information directors.
Woodhead's selection broke an eight-year streak where a quarterback won the award. Woodhead is the first running back to win the Hill Trophy since Emporia State's Brian Shay in 1998.
